 Student Paper Awards at ICIAfS 2008
 

 Five Student Awards from IEEE Sri Lanka Section jointly with ICIAfS will be made at 2008 conference.

Five Student Awards will be made for the following 5 main tracks of ICIAfS’08
1. Controls, Robotics and Automation:
2. Wired and Wireless Integration:
3. Intelligent Robots and Man-machine Co-existence:
4. Information and Communication Technology and Social Transformation:
5. Technical Advances in Disaster Management, Welfare, and Rehabilitation for Sustainability:

The student must either be the sole author of the paper, or alternatively the first author with their supervisor(s) as co-author(s). Further, the student author must be currently enrolled (or have been enrolled within the last 6 months) at a recognized university as either full-time or part-time student (proof is needed). Note that papers co-authored by General Chairs, Program Chair and technical program committee (TPC) chairs cannot be considered.

Papers considered eligible for the award will be judged by a sub committee of the conference TPC, consisting of at least two members of ICIAfS organizing committee. Outside referees may be invited, as appropriate to assist in making recommendations. The committee will finalize its decisions on the award in time to award at the conference Banquet on 13th December, 2008.

Papers will be reviewed and judged at two stages and marks will be given as follows:
Total marks = (50% at Review process + 50% Conference presentation)

The research should be innovative and original. The paper must present original findings that are relevant to the scope of the conference and conclusions with significant potential & value. The paper should be unique and useful.
